What makes our shuttle service special?
You can book in just a few clicks. This way, you’re not just buying a one-way bus ticket — you’re getting much more:
-
You’ll become part of a one-day tour with international travelers ([link]). During the ride, take the opportunity to enjoy cultural exchange and make new international friends.
-
Want to learn more about the Seven Rila Lakes area while on the road? Take advantage of our free audio guide, available in English, Spanish, and Italian. All you need is a smartphone, internet access, and headphones.
-
Direct transfer in a modern, air-conditioned, and comfortable minibus.
⚠ Important:
- Tickets are only available online and must be paid in full by debit or credit card. You’ll receive an email with your confirmation and e-ticket after booking.
- Prices vary depending on the date, demand, and how early you book. To check availability and pricing for a specific date, simply start the booking process.
- The ticket includes transportation only — it does not cover a guide or lift tickets.
- Tickets are one-way. If you’re planning a round trip, you’ll need to purchase two separate tickets: one for the outbound and one for the return journey.
- Tickets are non-refundable and cannot be changed if the lift is not operating.
- Special terms apply — you can review them during the booking process.
What does our transport service offer?
Once you complete your online booking, you’ll join a shared shuttle transfer to Panichishte — the starting point for the lift up to the Seven Rila Lakes. This transfer is part of an organized tour we’ve been running since 2010, mainly for international visitors, and it’s conducted in English. You’ll be traveling on the same bus, but only as part of the transfer — there’s no obligation to join the rest of the tour program.
There’s no need to print anything out. Just show your ticket on your phone (or on paper) to the driver for check-in, and you’re all set to hop on the bus.
The meeting point is Vasil Levski Monument (Embassy of Slovakia).

When does the bus depart?
- Standard departure time: 7:00 AM from Vasil Levski Monument (Embassy of Slovakia).
- During busy times—like mornings with lift queues, weekends, or summer months—the departure may be at 10:00 AM.
- The exact departure time will be shown during the booking process. We recommend starting your booking to check available options for your chosen date.
- Return transfers to Sofia take place in the afternoon. We also recommend checking the booking to see the available return times.
Chair lift details
- The lift from Panichishte to the Rila Lakes Hut is not included in the transfer price.
- As of July 9, 2025, a round-trip lift ticket costs 30 BGN.
- The lift operates daily, with the first run around 8:30–9:00 AM.
- The ride takes about 20 minutes each way.
- Please note that card payments for lift tickets may not always be accepted, so we recommend bringing cash.

About the hike
The lift does not take you directly to the lakes — it drops you off at the starting point of the hiking trail. The route to the first lake is relatively easy but does involve an uphill walk.
If you’re not in good physical shape, you can stay near the hut and enjoy the beautiful views from there.

What to expect from the group?
You’ll be traveling with international visitors, most of whom have booked a full-day guided tour in English. They’ll receive a detailed program and commentary, while you’ll simply share the same transport.
For some travelers, this is a great opportunity for informal cultural exchange and meeting new people.
For hiking enthusiasts — if you plan to hike from the lakes to the Rila Monastery, you can book a return ticket from the Monastery to Sofia for the same or the following day. This is a convenient option for those doing a multi-day trek through the mountains.
A trip to the Seven Rila Lakes with Traventuria isn’t just easy and convenient — it’s a real adventure. You’ll meet new friends from around the world, share special moments, and take in unforgettable views.
