We recommend checking conditions before departure, as mountain weather can change rapidly.

The entire circuit around all seven lakes typically takes between 4 and 6 hours, depending on your pace and how many breaks you take.

If you only visit a few of them (e.g., The Kidney or The Eye) and return, the hike will take approximately 2–3 hours.

The essentials:

  • Water (at least 1–1.5 liters per person)
  • Light snacks or sandwiches
  • Windbreaker or jacket – mountain weather changes quickly
  • Comfortable hiking boots
  • Hat and sunscreen

The departure time is indicated on your ticket – this is the exact time the bus leaves. The bus does not wait for late passengers. We recommend being at the bus at least 5 minutes early to ensure you don’t miss it.

Visiting the Seven Rila Lakes is generally not particularly suitable for children under 12, especially if they are not accustomed to mountain treks. The route includes steep and uneven sections, can last for several hours, and may be strenuous even for adults.

If you are hiking with younger children, it is advisable to:

  • Limit your hike to the first 1–2 lakes.
  • Use an appropriate hiking carrier (for babies or small children).
  • Consider the weather conditions and the child’s physical well-being.

The bus departs from Vasil Levski Monument (Embassy of Slovakia).

We recommend being at the departure point at least 5 minutes before the announced departure time to ensure you don’t miss the bus.
